What is an eyebrow transplant?
It is a cosmetic surgery, a commonly performed procedure where hair follicles are transferred to the brow area, that is, to restore growing hair to eyebrows that are overly thin, scarred, or completely missing.
Similar to hair transplant, eyebrow hair grafts are taken from hairs on the donor area- the back of the head. The surgeons obtain the hair follicles, divide them into individual hairs then transfer them to the ‘recipient site’, which can help to ensure that new hairs are able to grow much naturally. After a local anesthetic is given into the donor sites, a surgeon will make small incisions to get the follicles then transplant. The implanter pen technology will be applied in the whole procedure and the entire process takes about 2 to 3 hours.
A pair of good-looking eyebrows are so crucial, not only for the prominent feature of the face, but also for communication and facial expression, as well as for keeping debris, dirt, and sweat out of our eyes. If a person has full and perfectly-groomed eyebrows, the shape of his/her face can be framed and feature and expression can be accentuated well. Nowadays, eyebrow transplant has become more popular procedure in beauty industry. The absence of eyebrow may be due to genetics, prior electrolysis or laser hair removal, over-plucking, thyroid or other hormonal abnormalities, or trauma due to surgery, burns or other types of accidents.
