Hair Transplant

Hair Transplant

Hair loss, alopecia,  is a condition that affects men and women alike. A significant number of people experience hair loss to varying degrees, and it often starts in the 20s and 30s and often for a variety of reasons such as heredity, stress, side effects of medication, or any other lifestyle reasons. It can cause people to feel self-conscious and may lead to stress as well. Fortunately, there are a variety of hair loss treatment options available for those who are experiencing hair loss which includes surgical and non-surgical treatment plans that significantly improve hair loss concerns. Barley can help you identify the root cause of your hair fall and recommend a treatment plan that is personalized to your needs and wants.

Usually, it is a gradual process and signs vary from person to person. For example, some people complain about clumps of hair after combing, showering, or on the pillowcase, others notice a receding hairline on the temples of the crown of the head, or other people see bald spots on the back and top of the head. Although hair fall to some extent is normal, if hair loss is excessive or noticeable within a few weeks, it’s important to seek help right away. Whether it is male pattern baldness, receding hairline in females, or other hair growth and regeneration concerns, a qualified doctor and experts can help regain hair density and regeneration with a proper treatment plan. However, before seeking a treatment plan, it is important to identify the root cause of excessive hair fall and hair loss, as it differs from person to person.

Causes

Hair loss can be caused by a variety of factors, including stress, genetics, and even medications.

Deficiencies and Side effects of medication

Certain medical conditions and medication can result in thinning of hair, similarly, Vitamin deficiency can lead to hair fall and receding hairline.
Only a qualified doctor can help you determine the cause of hair fall and suggest a treatment plan. At Barley, our medical consultants do a thorough exam and scalp analysis to identify the cause of hair loss and then recommend transplant options based on that expert analysis. Rest assured we can provide you with the help you need.

Genetics

Androgenetic Alopecia or pattern baldness is a common occurrence in men and women and is usually due to genetics. Even though genetics is the cause of hair loss, some people experience more hair loss than others. The point is that each case is unique.

Hormones

When dihydrotestosterone or DHT is a hormone that causes hair loss in some people. It weakens hair follicles in certain areas on your head, usually the top of the head until hair in that area starts to fall out, this process is called miniaturization. A hair transplant rectifies this by planning healthy grafts from the donor area.

Stress

Stress is the most common cause of hair loss in men. Hair fallout due to stress is often called Telogen Effluvium which causes premature falling of hair. It causes your body to produce more cortisol than usual during times of high stress (for example during an exam or meeting). Cortisol is a hormone that signals “fight or flight” responses in the body so that you can react quickly when danger appears. When too much cortisol is produced over time and stays elevated for long periods of time—such as when someone hasn’t slept well or had good nutrition—it can lead to thinning hair on top (also known as pattern baldness) and/or receding temples (balding around the sides).

Hair Transplant Options

Hair loss can be ratified using the non-surgical and surgical treatment and transplant options. In non-surgical options, there are options like platelet-rich plasma therapy, Minoxidil, specialized shampoos and conditioners, and low-level laser therapy. Surgical hair transplant options are a permanent solution to hair loss and involve removing healthy hair from the ‘donor’ area which is the back of your head where usually the hair is strong and healthy and grafting it to the ‘recipient’ area. A graft is a naturally occurring cluster of hair that consists of 1 to 4 hair follicles. When these grafts are implanted in the recipient area, they retain the properties of the donor area thus, hair regeneration yields strong and healthy hair. Surgical transplant plan is of different types of hair extraction, grafting, and implanting techniques that are used worldwide. There are many types of hair restoration procedures that are commonly used: Microneedle hair transplant Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).

Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT)

In this procedure, a strip of skin from your back called the ‘donor’ area is removed for use in the transplant procedure. From the extracted strip, grafts are prepared which are then planted in the recipient area

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)

In this method, individual follicular units are extracted from the ‘donor’ area in your scalp and separated into different sizes before being transplanted onto bald spots on top or sides of heads i.e., recipient area where they will grow naturally into new hairs.

Microneedle hair transplant Method

Other than the FUE and FUT extraction methods, the Microneedle hair transplant technique is very effective in planting grafts in the recipient area. Microneedle is a scientific and advanced method for hair transplant. Hair follicles are loaded into the Implanter pen, a device that extracts and implants follicles with precisions into the scalp. Compared with the traditional transplanting method of applying scalpels and forceps, the advantages of Microneedle Hair Transplant are smaller wounds, higher density, and more natural direction, which is widely recognized by the hair transplant industry and also recommended by ISHRS. Barley Hair Transplant Hospital firstly introduced this technology to China. It’s an outpatient procedure, meaning you don’t need to stay overnight in a hospital.
The procedure takes about four to six hours to complete and depends on individual clients and his/her needs. Local anesthesia is administered during the procedure which makes hair transplant procedures painless. There are no stitches required after it’s done.
In conclusion, hair transplant surgery is a great way to regain your confidence and feel more comfortable in your own skin. It’s also important to note that most people who have had successful hair transplants will not experience any recurrence of their hair loss after the procedure. Thus, a hair transplant is a permanent solution to hair loss concerns. Experts and experienced doctors can make the process and result of hair transplant seamless and permanent. Therefore, Barley is a trusted name that has served more than 200,000+ clients over a period of 8 years. We assure you that you are in good hands at Barley.
